While we were away we received some excellent news...our best Christmas present! Court Documents were signed on Dec 22nd to make Keller a permanent part of our family & US citizen! I shed a few happy tears, we celebrated & thanked our God!
We returned home on Christmas Eve, in time to prepare for Santa, Jesus Birthday Party & all Christmas Day festivities. We let each of the kids open a gift...Christmas PJ's & an ornament. Keller broke a piece off of his Mickey Train within the 1st 30 seconds, go figure. But he loves it. It's a train, what's not to love? And Kylee got a Belle ornament. Belle is her favorite Princess and she watched Beauty & the Beast for the 1st time this year. They picked out several of our Christmas cookies for Santa with a glass of milk and some carrots for Rudolph.
Christmas morning everyone except Mom actually slept till about 7:30! After stocking opening we had Jesus Birthday Party (a big breakfast, complete with a candle in a stack of red pancakes). We sang Happy Birthday to Jesus & Daddy read the Christmas Story. After breakfast the gift opening continued. Both kids loved opening gifts, but like many things, went about it a little differently. Keller tore into them oohing & ahhing over each one, ready to move on to the next. In fact he was a little upset when the only presents left were not for him. Kylee oohed & ahhed but took her time, wanting to play with each thing before moving on. Everyone was very pleased with what Santa brought them this year! My sweet hubby surprised me with a beautiful camera I have had my eye on! Kylee has hardly put down her Leapster. And lets just say Keller loves his "dump-it trucks"!
The Simon's (and Bettie) joined us for a wonderful late lunch.
Today we ventured into DC to view a pretty cool train exhibit at the Botanical Gardens. We are all enjoying having Daddy home for a few days!
We feel very blessed for all that God has done in our lives this year! And look forward to all He has in store for 2011.
