Prayers of a Child

Kylee has been developing her prayers lately. And it is adorable! A few weeks ago a friend called to say they were on the way to the ER with their daughter (Kylee's friend) & would we pray. When we got off the phone we called Kylee over and explained that Bella had fallen & hit her head & we needed to pray for her. Joel explained that Mommy & Daddy would pray & Kylee could pray if she wanted to as well. Kylee immediately starts saying...."God is Great, God is Good, Let us thank Him for our food....." It was hard not to giggle, but we knew her heart was right. Well Bella was completely fine & we know God took care of her. Well this week Bella has been sick. One night at bedtime when Daddy was praying, Kylee interupts and says, "No, Kylee pray". So we gladly let her take it away. She began, "Dear Jesus..." Then we didn't catch everything that followed accept a few friends names thrown in here & there. When she stopped Joel said, "can you say Amen?" Kylee says, "No, Kylee pray." Okay, so she continues, "Dear Jesus, Bella feel good, amen." It was so sweet. She was really concerned about her little friend. We just looked at eachother and smiled with very warm hearts. Again, Bella is recovering quicker than expected. Thank you, Jesus, for hearing our prayers!

That is priceless. I couldn't help getting tears in my eyes as I pictured you as a family seeking the Lord together and Kylee learning how to pray and know that God hears her. There is nothing more special than that and I know God hears and must be touched by little children's prayers. Thank you for leading her in the ways of God by your example! I'm a blessed Mom and Grandmom!

The spiritual growth in a child is so precious to watch. This is a good example of how Kylee quickly learned that prayer is not just thanking God for food but a conversation with Jesus about her concerns! SO sweet and purely from her heart!! I have some sweet memories of our children doing the same! It pleases me to see that you are passing that same principle to your children!!

God bless you and Kylee as you continue to bring ALL your needs to our Beloved Savior!
