Spirit Week

Kylee had fun dressing up each day of Spirit Week. The week was ended with a staff basketball game against another local school. Let me tell you this school has Spirit! We had so much fun watching Kylee with her friends there. Seeing her so independent and interacting with her peers was a bitter sweet moment for me....proud, yet a twinge of sad...she is growing up. I help out at her class occasionally, but in class I don't see them interact so freely, playing & goofing around. It also was another confirmation of how much we like this neighborhood & school district. And we look forward to our kiddos growing up here.

Favorite Team or Jersey Day...

Crazy Day

Twins or Triplets Day.  Kylee was planning to be twins with one of her soccer friends.  But he came down with strep throat.  So in last minute we decided to be triplets with a couple of the girls.  But they already had matching shirts and all I knew was that they had brown t's with flowers & they would wear pigtails.  I did the best I could night before.  Kylee still seemed happy.  The 3 girls sat together at the basketball game & I got another triplet shot of them.

at soccer....they would have looked like this on Twin Day

Green Day (Earth Day was that weekend)

School Colors Day (Blue & Gold)

Spring Break

We didn't travel for spring break, but we enjoyed our "stay cation". I wanted it to be a low stress week, but I also wanted to do some fun & special things for the kids. So I tried to plan something for each day. Each morning I left a note, drawing or hint on the kitchen table about what that day held. On Monday it was simply a trip to get ice cream. Tuesday we went on a picnic & mini-golf as a family. Wednesday the kids & I went to the zoo with our friends, Lisa, Lindy & Millie Osborn. Thursday evening we took the kids to the circus. And Friday we dyed Easter Eggs & Daddy stayed home. Then we enjoyed Easter weekend as a family & with friends (The Osborns). We spent a lot of time during the week at the park, on our back porch & just being together. No regrets in staying home this year! It was just what we all needed. Told you this boy loves sweets...
More Easter Pictures to come.

Recital #2

In March Kylee participated in her second violin performance. This time she played 2 songs. Again she did great! And wasn't a bit nervous!
Afterward we took the opportunity for a few shots with friends & as a family. Kylee's best friend Sybella, who also did a terrific job!
Typical...hahaha...

We all CHEESE for candy!

I have to share this hilarious picture of Mr Keller. Contrary what it may appear from other posts. It can be a challenge to get Keller to smile for pictures, especially for a stranger. I have to take a hundred pictures, catch him in a silly mood or bribe him to get the best smiling shots. On school picture day I resorted to the latter. I knew if he wasn't in the mood, when the photographer was in action, he would be bringing home a scowling photo. So on that morning I promised him that if he smiled really nicely for the camera man, he could have candy when he got home. Of course when I picked him up that day, the first thing out of his mouth was that he smiled for the pictures. So I rewarded him as promised. But a couple weeks later when he brought home those pictures, this is what I saw... I was cracking up, because I knew exactly what was going through his mind at that moment....CANDY!!!! Sometimes bribery is worth it! What a handsome & funny boy!
